To start getting ads served to your users, there are a number of steps to follow both inside and outside of the Liftoff Monetize Dashboard. First, follow our step-by-step guide to adding application to the dashboard.
If you encounter any issues—such as being unable to connect your app, create a new app, or validate your app-ads.txt file—please refer to our Setup FAQ below. You can also review the error message or send it to us when reaching out for help.
- Liftoff Monetize App ID
- Moving an Application to a Different Account
- Changing an App's Platform - You created an app under the incorrect platform
- Deleting an Application
- If my application is used for advertising, do I need to create another one for monetizing?
1. Liftoff Monetize App ID
Your Liftoff Monetize App ID can be found on the dashboard after you create and add an app to your account - just click through to the Details view of the app. This is the ID you'll use in your Xcode project or Android Studio project in order to integrate our SDK and start getting ads. Read more about iOS SDK integration here, and Android integration here.
2. Moving an Application to a Different Account
If you need to move an application to a different account for any reason, we're happy to help. Send an email to tech-support@vungle.com, and we'll work with you to get it done.
3. Changing an App's Platform - You created an app under the incorrect platform.
Our server decides which ad to send to a device based on the end user's device, not the designation on the dashboard.
Even so, the data served in your iOS app will appear as if it was served in an Android app, which may interfere with reporting. We do suggest you to fix this problem during your next update.
To do so, create the right platform app and reuse the SDK integration ID in your SDK integration.
4. Deleting/Inactive/Archive an Application
To remove an application, to inactive an application, to archive an application, you'll need to log into your Liftoff Monetize dashboard. From there, you can navigate to the settings or applications section where you'll have the option to inactive the application. If you want to delete an application from the Liftoff Monetize platform for any reason, we're happy to help. Please use your admin email account to send an email to tech-support@vungle.com with your app ids, and we'll work with you to get it done.
5. If my application is used for advertising, do I need to create another one for monetizing?
In short, yes. We'll break out the reporting for each in a separate campaign report and publisher report, so we require you to create two apps in the Liftoff Monetize dashboard in order to monetize and advertise.
6. Change Password
To change your password, please select the "Forgot Password" on the logging in landing page. If you need further assistance or are experiencing issues, feel free to reach out to our support team.
7. Duplicate store ID
It seems you are having trouble creating an application with the package name. This issue could be related to several factors, such as the package name already being in use or not adhering to the naming conventions required by the Google Play Store. Please ensure that the package name is unique and follows the correct format. It's usually structured as a reversed domain name, and it cannot contain any illegal characters. Additionally, if this package name has been previously registered in the Google Play Console, you will need to choose a different one. If this issue occurs, it's also possible that another publisher has already registered this bundle ID. In that case, please contact our technical support team using the same email associated with the app store account, and include the relevant details for verification and assistance. If you continue to have problems, you may want to provide more details about the error you are receiving or fill out this form to talk with one of our support specialists for further assistance: https://support.vungle.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
8. app-ads.txt validation for new app
We’ve introduced an additional validation step for all new publisher apps — app-ads.txt verification. This ensures every publisher correctly configures their app-ads.txt file before launching new apps. The validation helps prevent unauthorized developers from impersonating legitimate publishers and monetizing unqualified traffic on Liftoff Monetize.
Below are a few specific validation errors you may encounter, along with what they mean:
1. No domain found for the provided Store ID. Please add your domain information to the app store. This error means that you need to add a website domain to the app store.
2. Please add the following line to the app-ads.txt file on any one of your domains (xxx.com, xxx.com, xxx.com) to pass validation: This error indicates that a domain is found based on the Store URL but the domain either: does not contain an app-ads.txt file, or the app-ads.txt file is missing the correct seller line.
For more information, please refer to this article on how you can update your app-ads.txt: https://support.vungle.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055891252-app-ads-txt and our app-ads.txt list https://publisher.vungle.com/vungleAdsTxt.
Additional notes:
If you added or updated the website field on your store listing within the past 24 hours, please wait and try creating the app again after 24 hours, as our system has a delay when fetching store page updates.
Root domain is required. www subdomains are NOT accepted.
Liftoff ONLY accepts app-ads.txt hosted on the ROOT DOMAIN. Any subdomain — including www — will fail validation.
NOT accepted (will fail validation):
www.example.com/app-ads.txt ads.example.com/app-ads.txt m.example.com/app-ads.txt
Accepted (ONLY this format works):
example.com/app-ads.txt
Important clarification: Even though www.example.com is commonly treated as equivalent to the root domain in browsers, it is still a subdomain and will NOT pass Liftoff app-ads.txt validation.
If the issue persists, please provide your account id and app store url and reach out to our support team https://support.vungle.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
